Bladder pressure can quickly disrupt your daily life, leaving you uncomfortable and searching for relief. At Beyond Basics, we specialize in addressing conditions that cause feelings of pressure in your bladder, such as interstitial cystitis also known as painful bladder syndrome, urinary tract infections (UTIs), overactive bladder, just to name a few. Our goal is to help you manage your symptoms, relieve pain, and regain control over your bladder health.
Symptoms of Bladder Pressure
- Frequent urination
- A constant or intense feeling of needing to urinate
- Pain or discomfort as the bladder fills
- Pelvic pain that ranges from mild to severe
- Chronic pain in the bladder or pelvic region
- Painful urination or burning sensations
- Symptoms worse after consuming certain foods or drinks
- Feelings of incomplete bladder emptying

How Your Pelvic Floor Affects Bladder Health
Your pelvic floor muscles play an important role in supporting your bladder function and managing lower urinary tract symptoms. When these muscles have too much tension and/or not enough strength to function properly, they can exacerbate bladder-related conditions.
- Tense Muscles: Overly tense pelvic floor and abdominal muscles can lead to increased bladder pressure.
- Weak Muscles: Weakness in the pelvic floor can compromise bladder support, leading to increased bladder pressure.
How Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy Can Help
- Relieve pain caused by tension or spasms in the pelvic area
- Improve bladder function and reduce lower urinary tract symptoms
- Help alleviate bladder pain caused by interstitial cystitis also known as painful bladder syndrome, urinary tract infections (UTIs), overactive bladder, or other conditions
