Dr. Amy Stein (She/Her)

Premier physical therapist, founder, and pioneer – Dr. Amy Stein is at the forefront of treating pelvic floor dysfunction and pelvic pain, specializing in functional manual therapy for people of all ages, including children. She is the founder and owner of Beyond Basics Physical Therapy in New York City, with offices in both Midtown and Downtown Manhattan.

Dr. Stein is an award-winning author, best known for her books Heal Pelvic Pain and Beating Endo: How to Reclaim Your Life from Endometriosis, as well as her instructional video Healing Pelvic and Abdominal Pain: The Ultimate Home Program for Patients and a Guide for Practitioners. She is co-editor of Healing in Urology and has contributed to leading medical textbooks, including Pelvic Pain Management, Female Sexual Pain Disorders: Evaluation and Management, Management of Sexual Dysfunction in Men and Women, and The Overactive Pelvic Floor.

She has served as President of the International Pelvic Pain Society, where she now chairs the Past Presidents Committee and sits on the Advisory Board. As a tireless educator and advocate, Dr. Stein lectures internationally, contributes to professional journals, and works closely with patients, caregivers, and providers to expand awareness and access to pelvic health care.

Her expertise has been featured in the documentary Endo What? and in prominent media outlets such as Dr. Oz, ABC’s 20/20,Good Morning La La Land, Elle, Prevention, Parents, Women’s Health, Runner’s World, More, and New York’s Daily News and Post.

Dr. Stein is certified in perimenopause/menopause coaching and biofeedback, and is a Fellow of the International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health. She also founded Wellness x Nature, a line of healing CBD products designed to support people on their path to health and healing. At Beyond Basics, she continues to innovate by incorporating advanced treatments such as Shockwave Therapy to help patients heal, restore function, and improve quality of life.
