COVID-19 Announcement

To our dear community

We are reaching out to you in these difficult times to express our hope that you are safe and well. Especially now, when we all need care and support, we are committed to your health and are here to help you continue on your path to healing.

Beyond Basics Midtown and Downtown are open for appointments, according to the designation that we are an essential healthcare facility for treating patients for non-COVID-19- related conditions. For those of you who cannot come into our office, we are now offering virtual videoconference/telehealth appointments – please see below.

If you were diagnosed with COVID-19 and have recovered, you may still be experiencing difficulties caused by the after-effects of the illness. Our skilled physical therapists are here to guide you along your path to recovery by helping to restore your breathing mechanics, strength, and endurance.

We value our patients’ and staff’s health above all else, and together we need to do everything we can to be as safe as possible. As a result, we have very strict criteria to be met before a patient or employee enters our offices. We are closely monitoring the CDC and WHO websites and taking necessary precautions:

Cleaning protocols have been ramped up. Patients are asked to wash their hands upon entering as well as before and after using any equipment. The offices are undergoing daily routine disinfections and disinfections after each patient. All sheets, pillowcases, and towels are professionally cleaned after each use.

Hand sanitizer is available. As an additional precaution to supplement hand washing, we have hand sanitizer available throughout our offices for both staff and patients.

Staff members exhibiting any symptoms that the CDC guidelines mention will be asked to stay home without question. This may result in appointment changes. We appreciate your cooperation and apologize for any inconvenience.

Our physical therapists wear masks and gloves throughout the treatment session and we ask that our patients do the same.

We take the temperature and measure blood oxygen saturation of every person that enters our offices – both patients and staff.

We are emailing a personal health and symptom screener to every patient coming into the office 24 hours in advance.

To our patients who are exhibiting symptoms of the Coronavirus (fever, cough, shortness of breath), we ask that you please reschedule your appointment at Beyond Basics. The symptoms of the disease are evolving, so we are sending out a survey to our patients to assess what they’re experiencing. This will allow us to treat our patients more effectively. As always, please consider contacting your primary care physician for further support.
