Baranowski reports in the journal Current Opinions in Supportive and Palliative Care the following statistics:

  • 1 in 10 men have experienced chronic pelvic pain syndrome
  • Between 239-306 in 100,000 men and women experience bladder pain
  • Up to 20,000 men experience pain postvasectomy
  • Ejaculatory pain occurs in as many as 9 out of 100 men

Male pelvic pain is associated with multiple pain sites and requires a multidisciplinary approach to healing, including good psychological care. Depression rates are higher in men who experience this type of pain. Be sure to include nutrition, behavorial therapy, acupuncture, and yoga to traditional medical interventions for the optimal outcome.
